Ta Chi Nhu Peak is known as the “roof of Yen Bai” and ranks as the 7th highest mountain among the top 10 highest peaks in Vietnam. Joining a trekking tour to Ta Chi Nhu, you will be immersed in the vast sea of white clouds drifting gently across the mountain ranges, a sight that has enchanted countless mountain enthusiasts.

ITINERARY:

Day 0 – Transfer from Hanoi to Tram Tau 9:00 PM: Depart Hanoi by sleeper bus to Tram Tau, Yên Bái. ~2:00–3:00 AM: Arrive in Tram Tau and check into a cozy homestay at the mountain’s base. Rest for a few hours before the trek begins.

Day 1 – Trekking through forests & wildflower hills

7:00 AM: Wake up, enjoy a hearty breakfast with coffee, then take a motorbike taxi to the trailhead.

8:00 AM: Begin trekking through bamboo forests and terraced rice hillsides, with sweeping views of valleys below.

12:00 PM: Stop for a forest picnic prepared by your porter: sticky rice, grilled pork, seasonal fruits, and mountain herbs. Rest for about an hour.

2:00 PM: Continue trekking uphill, crossing misty ridges and passing through Chi Pau wildflower fields (in season, late autumn). The trail opens to grassy slopes and panoramic vistas, often blanketed in drifting clouds.

4:00 PM: Arrive at a rustic mountain hut. Rest, freshen up, and take in the stunning “sea of clouds” as the sun sets over rolling peaks. 7:00 PM: Dinner of local specialties prepared by your porter – warm dishes such as stir-fried vegetables, mountain chicken, and rice wine. Overnight at the hut.

Day 2 – Sunrise above the clouds & descent

4:00 AM: Wake up early and have a light breakfast.

5:00 AM: Begin the final ascent with headlamps under the starry sky.

6:00 AM: Reach the summit of Ta Chi Nhu, known as the “Rooftop of Yên Bái,” just as the sun rises over a vast ocean of clouds – a magical and unforgettable moment.

8:00 AM: Return to the hut.

9:00 AM: Rest, pack belongings, and enjoy an early mountain-style lunch.

10:00 AM: Trek back down through the same scenic trails, with chances to spot horses grazing on the slopes or wild orchids along the path. 3:00 PM: Arrive at the base of the mountain, then transfer back to Tram Tau.

4:00 PM: Depart Tram Tau by bus.
